Laurence J. DeVries
Laurence J. DeVries has been utilizing his legal and financial expertise to take care of businesses owners and their legal needs for over 20 years. He specializes in business transactions, including business sales and acquisitions, business and commercial law, strategic planning and commercial real estate. DeVries is currently the managing partner of DeVries and Associates. DeVries and Associates provides legal counsel to several middle market businesses in connection with their general legal needs. Prior to founding DeVries & Associates, DeVries was affiliated with a large Chicago firm, where he receive experience and training doing large and sophisticated business transactions.
In addition to practicing as a business-oriented attorney, DeVries has also initiated businesses of his own. DeVries has been and is currently a partner in a real estate development company. From 1991 to 1992, DeVries owned a small interest in a start-up wine business and from 1994 through 1997, he operated a business which imported and sold Russian art.
DeVries received his law degree from the Northwestern University Law School and his undergraduate degree from Calvin College, having majored in economics and philosophy.
